DIY - fun holiday tote

I was recently in Sephora and was given this cute cinch gift bag with my purchase. I thought it was so cute and I wanted to get better use of it. Here is what I came up with.....
Cut the top of bag off and remove the silver string that cinched the bag. I will use the cut pieces for my handles later. I found this tan suede fabric in my fabric box that would work great with the design of the bag.
On the reverse side, sew the suede to the other fabric. Iron the top to fold down nicely when handles are sewn on.
Finished in about 20 minutes. It really was quick and easy and I love it!!!!

Thanks Mimosa Lane blog

Good Morning! Today I am reposting a post from Thanks Albertina and Julie.

I'm in love with this painting by Sabrina Cabada.  It is mesmerizing.  I love the complementary colors- red and green.  They make a powerful statement in a non-christmassy kind of way. Aside from the outfit, I'm insisting on reading a lot of classics this summer (maybe its because I'm feeling guilty for having read Fifty Shades of Grey?) and with those cute designs who wouldn't want to have those cute books adorning your bookcases when you are done?
So back to the outfit- Adorable espadrilles, check, cute necklace, check, cool shorts and top, check, reading treasures, check, blanket, check, refreshing watermelon, of course!

I hope you have a great one!

Gold necklace gets a makeover

A few years ago attended a white elephant gift exchange. After this necklace (top left) was bounced around several times, I became the proud owner. I thought it was sort of cool and saw it's potential right away. I wore it a few times but the necklace needed more.  After playing around with a few different ideas. This is the end result and I wear it quite a bit.

Today is the first day of Spring

I love spring. Unfortunately, my entire family suffers from allergies. I manage to forgive the happy budding life all around me. We have a Camellia bush in our front yard and it has pretty coral rose-like flowers that bloom in early March. The fallen petals inspired a fashion collage.

Amaranth Wedge Sandal in Coral Suede at Solestruck $334.95, Dr. Scholl's flat band sandal $64, Levity Whisper wedge sandal at DSW $59.95, Bobbi Brown cabana corals pot rouge $24, Fairburn Necklace at Anthropologie $58, pretty coral dress from pinterest, Chanel Coral nail polish $29, Coral Chandelier at Ann Coyle Interiors $3,750.

Outfit of the Day

I am excited about my first fashion collage. Here is a cute outfit that was inspired by outfit below. I have a true passion for fashion and I am adding a new blog feature, "Outfit of the Day." Pinterestpolyvore and the budget babe are great resources to find inspiration for adorable outfits.

I have all these items in my closet but rarely take the time to put a sophisticated outfit together. Earrings are from Southmoon Under, t-shirt from Old Navy, bracelet from Macy's, narciso rodriguez perfume was picked out by Hannah (daughter) and Joe (husband) (love it and them), skirt designer is unknown, basic Nine West pumps and boots.
